Accra, June 17, 2026 –
As part of its 30th anniversary celebrations and annual employee volunteerism initiative, MTN Ghana has launched the 2026 edition of its 21 Days of Y’ello Care campaign, with employees across the country dedicating their time and skills to improving healthcare delivery and supporting communities.
The nationwide campaign, which runs from June 1 to June 21, 2026, is being held under the theme, “Expanding Equitable Health for Every Community.”
The initiative highlights MTN Ghana’s long-standing commitment to creating shared value and giving back to the communities that have supported the company over the past three decades.
Across all 16 regions of Ghana, MTN employees are engaging in practical community-based interventions aimed at improving access to healthcare and promoting healthier living.
Employees have traded their office desks for paintbrushes, repair tools and outreach activities as they work directly with communities and health facilities to make a meaningful impact.
Key activities under the campaign include the refurbishment of broken hospital beds, support for health facilities, community health screenings, disease prevention education, awareness creation on non-communicable diseases, installation of handwashing facilities in selected schools, and the training of community health champions to sustain health education beyond the campaign period.
At major health facilities such as the Maamobi Polyclinic, Achimota Hospital, Koforidua Government Hospital, Ho Teaching Hospital, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Tamale Teaching Hospital and Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital, MTN volunteers are restoring worn-out hospital beds by sanding rusted frames, applying primer and repainting them for patient use.
For many of these health facilities, the restoration of hospital beds represents more than just repaired equipment. It provides renewed opportunities for hospitals to admit and care for patients in a dignified and comfortable environment.
The intervention also contributes to efforts aimed at easing Ghana’s persistent “no bed syndrome,” which continues to put pressure on healthcare facilities and affect the quality of patient care.
In addition to the refurbishment works, the campaign is also driving preventive healthcare through free health screenings, public health education and WASH interventions in schools.
These activities are helping to improve hygiene practices, encourage preventive healthcare and strengthen health awareness in communities nationwide.
Speaking on the ongoing initiative, Adwoa Wiafe, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer at MTN Ghana, said the campaign reflects MTN’s belief in the power of collective action and community partnership in addressing societal challenges.
“At MTN, we believe that everyone deserves access to dignified and quality healthcare, regardless of where they live. Through 21 Days of Y’ello Care, our employees are demonstrating the power of service, compassion and shared responsibility.
Refurbishing hospital beds, supporting health screenings, promoting hygiene and educating communities may appear simple, but these actions directly touch lives and support the delivery of care in very meaningful ways,” she stated.
She further reaffirmed MTN Ghana’s commitment to supporting national development and improving the well-being of communities through strategic partnerships and volunteerism.
“Healthcare is a shared responsibility, and as a business rooted in Ghana, we see it as our duty to contribute to solutions that make life brighter for our communities.
We are proud of our employees who continue to show up with passion, empathy and purpose, and we are grateful to our partners and health institutions for working with us to make this campaign impactful,” she added.

Health authorities at beneficiary facilities have also praised MTN Ghana for the intervention. Dr. Abdul Razak Quao, Medical Superintendent of Maamobi Polyclinic, and Mr. Bernard Fiifi Polley, Hospital Administrator of Achimota Hospital, commended the company for stepping in at a critical time to restore malfunctioning hospital beds that had become a major challenge for their facilities.
According to them, the hospitals had been seeking funds to undertake the repairs, and MTN Ghana’s support has come as a timely relief.
They noted that the refurbished beds would greatly improve patient care and help create a more dignified and comfortable environment for both patients and caregivers.
The 2026 edition of the 21 Days of Y’ello Care campaign is expected to conclude with hundreds of hospital beds refurbished and additional beds procured to strengthen healthcare delivery across the country.
Through the initiative, MTN Ghana continues to reinforce its commitment to volunteerism, sustainability and inclusive development, while demonstrating that brighter lives are built when communities are supported with care, dignity and opportunity.
