The Office of Akokofe has marked the first anniversary of the enstoolment of Nana Otiawere Frimpong Manso II, Akokofe Krontihene, and Nana Abenaa Boahemaa, Akokofe Krontihemaa, with a renewed commitment to promoting development and improving the wellbeing of residents.
The anniversary celebration, held at Akokofe, brought together traditional leaders, clergy, politicians, community members and well-wishers to celebrate the achievements and vision of the traditional leadership over the past year.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nana Otiawere Frimpong Manso II pledged his office’s commitment to support the growth and development of Akokofeman, Bosomtwe, Asanteman and Ghana as a whole.
He said his leadership would work closely with stakeholders to support initiatives capable of improving the living conditions of the people.
Nana Otiawere Frimpong Manso II further stated that his office would support the vision and direction of the Akokofehene, Osako Adu Panin, particularly initiatives aimed at improving the socio-economic wellbeing of the people of Akokofeman.
The celebration attracted a number of distinguished personalities, including Asuofua Hemaa, Nana Barnie Ahenkan, Nana Karikari Okogyedom II, Otumfuo Topreman Krontre and the Kromoase Kotokuomhene, Oheneyere Komfour Adomah Karikari (Tano Kofi Komfour).
Others included Kuntanase Deduakohene, Nana Agyei, staff of Oyerepa FM and TV members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from the Oforikrom Constituency led by the former Constituency Chairman, Mr Seidu.
The Special Guest of Honour, Nana Adu Gyamfi Kumanin Barima Kesse I, Nyankyerenease Nkosourhene, also attended the celebration and pledged his support for the development agenda of the Akokofe Krontihene.
As part of his commitment, Nana Adu Gyamfi Kumanin Barima Kesse I assured the people of Akokofeman of his intention to support the provision of a mechanised borehole to help address the community’s water needs.
The Akokofehene, Osako Adu Panin, was represented by his Nifahene, Nana Yaw Tweneboa Kodua, while the Akokofehemaa was represented by Oyokohemaa Nana Yaa Yeboah Asiamah, together with elders of the Akokofe Divisional Council.
Also present was Nana Yere Rebecca Frimpong Manso, who graced the occasion to show her support for her husband’s development initiatives for Akokofeman.
The first anniversary celebration served not only as an opportunity to reflect on the traditional leadership’s first year in office but also as a platform to reaffirm the commitment of Nana Otiawere Frimpong Manso II and his team to the development and progress of Akokofeman.
The event also demonstrated the importance of collaboration among traditional authorities, government representatives, political actors, religious leaders, businesses and community stakeholders in advancing development at the grassroots level.
