Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah has declared that the Porcupine Warriors are fully prepared for Sunday’s highly anticipated Super Clash against arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak, assuring fans that the team has intensified preparations ahead of the crucial encounter.
Kotoko will host Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 17:00 GMT, as Ghana’s fiercest football rivalry takes centre stage once again in what promises to be a thrilling showdown.
Speaking in an interview with Akoma FM, Amoah revealed that training sessions have been rigorous, with the technical team placing strong emphasis on improving the club’s attacking output and finishing in front of goal.
“We are preparing very well. I think we are working more on our goal scoring, and we also need to get more goals in that match,” Amoah stated. “So, I think we are ready for Sunday.”
The forward stressed that beyond the fight for valuable league points, the clash presents an opportunity for Kotoko to regain the confidence and support of their passionate followers after a run of inconsistent performances.
“We need the points very seriously. It’s important for us to win back our supporters’ hearts, especially since we haven’t been consistent in our matches.
This is a match our supporters truly need, so securing the points is absolutely crucial,” he added.
Kotoko will approach the high-stakes fixture under interim coaches Prince Yaw Owusu and Hamza Obeng, who have stepped in following the resignation of Karim Zito, as the club aims to deliver a strong performance in front of their home fans.
