The MTN Ghana Foundation is set to award 500 scholarships to brilliant but needy students and teachers in public tertiary institutions for the 2026/2027 academic year as part of efforts to promote education, youth empowerment and national development.
The scholarships, scheduled to be awarded in October 2026, are intended to ease the financial burden on beneficiaries, enabling them to pursue their academic ambitions, enhance their professional development and achieve their full potential.
Out of the 500 scholarships, 300 will be awarded to students, while the remaining 200 will support teachers seeking to advance their academic qualifications and professional careers.

The Foundation will hold two separate award ceremonies to present the scholarships to beneficiaries across the country.
The Southern Sector ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra, while the Northern Sector ceremony will take place on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) campus in Kumasi.

The ceremonies are expected to celebrate the achievements of the beneficiaries while highlighting the importance of education in building a skilled workforce and shaping Ghana’s future.
The scholarship initiative also forms part of activities marking the 30th anniversary of MTN Ghana, commemorating three decades of connecting people, creating opportunities and contributing to national development.
Foundation’s Commitment to Education
The MTN Ghana Foundation was established in November 2007 as the vehicle through which MTN implements its corporate social investment initiatives.
The Foundation focuses on three key areas: health, education and economic empowerment.
Since its establishment, it has undertaken 178 major projects across the country, reflecting its commitment to improving lives and supporting communities through targeted social interventions.
The latest scholarship programme is expected to provide financial relief to beneficiaries while strengthening access to higher education and professional development opportunities for students and teachers.
