A renowned Kumasi-based journalist, Rev. Alexander Nti, has officially announced his candidacy to contest for membership in the Council of State.
Rev. Nti, who revealed his intentions to run for the Council of State position during an interview with the media, outlined his vision to create job opportunities for the youth. “The youth are the backbone of the country; I will lobby for the development of the Ashanti Region,” he remarked.
According to him, the Ashanti Region needs a leader who is committed to ensuring the completion of all unfinished projects.
He added that the region deserves someone who will prioritize the welfare of its people and ensure that infrastructure and development projects vital to its growth are successfully completed.

Rev. Nti emphasized that he has already secured the support of two-thirds of the presiding members. “My next step is to appeal for support from the Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), ensuring a broad base of support across the region,” he stated.
He also expressed his intention to work closely with President Mahama, advising him on the continuation and completion of these important projects that have been left unfinished in the region.
Rev. Nti hopes that the nomination forms for the Council of State elections will soon be made available, allowing him to formally file for his candidacy.
