Kwame Baffoe Abronye has been re-elected as the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), securing 201 votes in the party’s regional executive elections held on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Abronye defeated four other contenders in the keenly contested chairmanship race to secure another mandate to lead the party’s regional structures.

His re-election gives him the responsibility of coordinating the party’s activities across the Bono Region, working closely with constituency executives and mobilising members as the NPP seeks to strengthen its grassroots structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.

As Regional Chairman, Abronye will be expected to coordinate constituency-level activities, mobilise party supporters, strengthen internal organisation and help implement decisions of the national leadership.

His victory follows months of political activity and engagements as the NPP undertakes a nationwide reorganisation aimed at rebuilding its structures and improving grassroots mobilisation.

In the other contests, Kofi Ofosu Boateng was elected Regional Secretary after polling 187 votes, while Abdul Razak Oppong emerged as Regional Organiser with 229 votes.

Kate Amponsah Agyare won the First Vice Chairman position with 252 votes, while Issa Issaka secured the Second Vice Chairman position with 89 votes.

Randy Ashraf Issahaku was elected Deputy Secretary with 145 votes, while Doris Asomah won the Women’s Organiser position with 139 votes.

For the Youth Organiser position, Shadrach Abrefah Mensah emerged victorious with 92 votes. Faisal Osman Mohammed won the Nasara Organiser position with 177 votes.

Henry Osei was elected Treasurer with 124 votes, while Fahd Osman won the Communications position with 170 votes.

The newly elected regional executives are expected to take charge of the NPP’s affairs in the Bono Region and work together to rebuild party structures, strengthen unity and enhance grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2028 general elections.
