The Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Hon. Kwabena Boateng (Esq.), has called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to put aside internal differences and rally behind the party’s newly elected flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, following the conclusion of the party’s presidential primaries.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Hon. Boateng, who previously served as a prominent campaigner for Kennedy Agyapong stressed that the internal contest had ended and that the party’s focus must now shift toward a united effort to reclaim political power in the 2028 general elections.
According to the legislator, the outcome of the recent primaries reflects the collective will of party delegates and should be respected by all members.
He urged supporters of other aspirants to accept the results and align with the party’s new direction under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership.
“The verdict delivered by NPP members last Saturday sends a clear message: we must market Dr. Bawumia effectively to ensure the party recaptures political power in 2028,” Hon. Boateng stated.
He acknowledged that members held varying preferences during the internal contest but emphasized that the majority decision must now guide the party’s next steps.
He called on all supporters to unite and work collectively toward a common goal.
Hon. Boateng further pledged his “total and unflinching” support for the former Vice President, warning against complacency within the party.
He urged members to actively promote the flagbearer’s vision and strengthen the NPP’s connection with the Ghanaian electorate.
“Our duty is to make Dr. Bawumia and the NPP brand the preferred choice for the Ghanaian people.
We will take our message to every corner of the country from the airwaves to the local chop bars to ensure our message resonates strongly with voters,” he concluded.
