Accra, September 13, 2025 – The MTN Ghana Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment and digital transformation at the grand finale of the National Youth Mentorship Summit 2025, held at the University of Ghana Business School, Legon.
The summit brought together over 800 students and young professionals from across the country for a transformative experience centered on mentorship, digital readiness, and leadership development.
Speaking at the event, Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, Senior Manager, Corporate Communications at MTN Ghana, emphasized the company’s dedication to equipping Africa’s youth with the right skills to thrive in a digital future.

“MTN is proud to support this national mentorship programme focused on young people in tertiary institutions. As a brand committed to driving Africa’s progress, we recognise that youth development and entrepreneurship are essential for sustainable economic empowerment” She stated.

In her presentation, themed “STRETCH”, she encouraged participants to go beyond their comfort zones to achieve excellence in their academic and professional pursuits, stressing that true growth comes from embracing challenges.
A key highlight of MTN’s engagement at the summit was the presentation of the MTN Skills Academy, a flagship initiative under the MTN Ghana Foundation.
The Academy provides free access to world-class digital training, including courses in data analytics, cybersecurity, and career development tools.
Mr. Ebenezer Terkpeh, Education Portfolio Advisor at the MTN Ghana Foundation, outlined the Academy’s ambition to impact over 10,000 young people in Ghana.
“We have transitioned from a telecoms company to a technology company. To meet our future workforce needs, we must invest in equipping local talent with the right skills” He emphasized
Mr Terkpeh explained the MTN Skills Academy does just that, offering both basic and advanced programmes with certifications from top global universities.”
Mr. Albert Prempeh Kusi, Founder of the LEC Group and Convener of the National Mentorship Summit, commended MTN Ghana for its consistent support.
“Through initiatives like the MTN Skills Academy and their continued support of national mentorship programmes, MTN is truly investing in the future of Ghana and Africa,” He said.
The 2025 edition of the National Youth Mentorship Summit, which commenced on June 21, featured weeks of impactful sessions, interactive workshops, and empowering conversations across four public universities, culminating in the Legon finale.
