Accra Hearts of Oak has officially withdrawn from the upcoming EKO International Tournament in Nigeria, citing a scheduling conflict.
In a statement released on July 8, 2025, the club described the decision as “difficult” but necessary. The withdrawal follows a change in the tournament’s date—from the original schedule of July 6–13 to a new timeframe of July 13–20.
Hearts of Oak explained that the revised dates now clash with a crucial rest and recovery period planned for their players ahead of the new season.
The club emphasized its commitment to player welfare and preparation, stating that the timing of the tournament no longer aligns with its preseason program.
