The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has expressed his appreciation to MTN Ghana for their significant sponsorship of the Ashanti Konnect Concert Musical Festival ,
Dr. Amoakohene said, the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council deliberately avoided using public funds to sponsor the festival to avoid criticism of extravagant spending.
According to him, the council reached out to institutions and corporate entities, and MTN Ghana responded positively by sponsoring the Ashanti Konnect Concert Musical Festival.
He thanked MTN for providing a special bundle (*141* Ashantifest 2025 bundle) and promised to buy MTN SIM cards for anyone without one to show appreciation for their support
Dr. Amoakohene praised MTN for their support, stating that the Ashanti region has come to accept MTN as a preferred telecommunication network partner.
The Ashantifest 2025 celebrations were designed to showcase talents in various sectors, promote individual talents, and unite the region to achieve great things.
It also featured a range of activities, isuch as cleanup exercise, football, boxing night, education, science, and technology exhibitions, cultural festivals, food festivals, Jama festival, and medical screening and among others.
Dr. Amoakohene mention some of the achievements of the festival, including the renovation of the Ghana Prison clinic in Kumasi to provide quality healthcare for inmates.
Adding that the festival had brought attention to the plight of inmates, leading to donations to help them celebrate Easter festivity and the provision of legal aid to those in need.
He stated that, 66 inmates on the amnesty list were to be presented to the President for possible presidential pardon.
The impact of Ashantifest 2025 extends beyond the celebrations themselves, with tangible benefits for the community, including improved healthcare for inmates and support for those in need.
