Juaben Community Bank PLC has recorded a remarkable improvement in its financial performance, with profit after tax more than doubling from GH¢8.75 million in 2024 to GH¢17.72 million in 2025.
The strong performance was disclosed by the Board Chairman of Juaben Community Bank PLC, Nana Dr. AppiaGyei Dankawoso I, at the bank’s 40th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of shareholders held at Juaben.

Gross loans and advances also recorded significant growth, increasing by 84.96 percent to GH¢143.54 million, reflecting the bank’s increased support to households, businesses and other customers within its operational communities.

The bank’s stated capital also increased by 27.66 percent, from GH¢6.00 million in 2024 to GH¢7.66 million in 2025. This is above the prescribed minimum stated capital requirement of GH¢5 million for a community bank.
A Year of Transformation
Nana Dr. AppiaGyei Dankawoso I described the 2025 financial year as one of the most significant milestones in the history of Juaben Community Bank PLC.
He noted that during the year, the institution successfully transitioned from a Rural Bank to a Community Bank, while delivering record financial performance, strengthening its governance structures, enhancing institutional capacity and positioning itself for sustainable long-term growth.
He attributed the achievements to the Board’s strategic direction, Management’s disciplined execution and the commitment of the bank’s staff.
According to him, the change of name represents more than simply putting up a new signboard.
“It reflects the broader transformation of the institution into a modern, competitive and performance-driven community bank.”
He stressed that although the name of the institution had changed,
its fundamental purpose remained the same: to mobilise resources within its communities, provide responsible financial support to households and businesses, create sustainable value for shareholders and contribute meaningfully to local development.
Nana Dr. Dankawoso said the 2025 financial year was characterised by an improving but still challenging macroeconomic environment.
He noted that Ghana’s economy continued its recovery under the fiscal consolidation programme, while inflation moderated and the Ghana cedi recorded improved stability compared with the severe volatility experienced during earlier periods.
The Board Chairman explained that the bank’s strong performance was the result of deliberate strategic decisions taken by the Board and diligently implemented by Management.
He said the decisions formed part of a broader strategic and innovative transformation of the traditional rural banking model, aimed at repositioning the institution as a modern, commercially responsive and performance-driven bank while preserving its community identity and development mandate.
He said the Board remained guided by the philosophy that sustainable profitability could be achieved not by taking greater risks, but by strengthening governance, improving accountability, enhancing operational discipline and making sound strategic decisions.
Consequently, the Board introduced a number of institutional reforms aimed at positioning the bank for sustainable long-term growth.
Appreciation to Stakeholders
Nana Dr. Dankawoso expressed appreciation to the Omanhene of the Juaben Traditional Area, Nana Otu Siriboe II; the Omanhemaa of the Juaben Traditional Area, Nana Akosua Akyamaa IV; Lawyer Krobea Asante; the Board of Directors; Management and staff for their support and contributions to the growth of the bank.
The Omanhene of the Juaben Traditional Area, Nana Otu Siriboe II, also commended the Board, Management and staff for their hard work and dedication in making the bank successful.
He urged the newly constituted Board to work even harder to take the institution to greater heights.
The Member of Parliament for Juaben, Hon. Owusu Achiaw, also appealed to customers who had taken loans from the bank to repay them promptly.
He explained that loan repayment was essential to enable the bank to continue providing financial support to other individuals and businesses within the community.
The impressive 2025 results, coupled with the bank’s transition to a community bank, position Juaben Community Bank PLC for a new phase of growth, with a stronger capital base, expanding loan portfolio and renewed focus on serving the financial needs of its communities.
