Over 664 Muslim students and youth in Ashanti Mampong and it’s environ have had the privilege to undergo an empowerment training workshop.

The workshop which was organized by the Muslim professional body in Mampong was aimed at imbibing in the youth especially the Muslim student the need to build a character of self resilience and eschew the sense of dependency .

Addressing the workshop in Mampong in the Ashanti Region over the weekend, Alhaji Dr Sadick Jibreal who is a lecturer at the Zahara college at Ankara in Turkey observed that low self-esteem is a potential hindrance to one’s success and that this can obviously lead poverty and dependency.

He there fore challenged the youth to break bounds by developing the sense of resilience and unravel their potentials in order to nip in the bud the spirit of dependency syndrome.

Realising the need to pull the needy young ones along Alhaji Sadick who was the main speaker for the occasion announced a plan to launch an endowment fund called Zakat to assist them as they climb higher on their academic journey in order to become self sufficient in the near future.

Dr Sadick expressed his excitement over the two day holiday granted Muslims in recent times. He attributed this partly to strong advocacy and bargaining on the part of Muslims in the whelme of affairs particularly in the current administration.
Some of these things he said can be made possible through education and unlocking one’s potentials.

Speaking to the media, the President of the Muslim Professionals Mr Haroon Abubakar pointed out the fact that giving back to society especially to the needy helps foster peace and harmony.

He said a help to elevate the Muslim youth is equal to building a formidable Muslim professional which has the tendency of bringing the act of begging for arms by some Muslims to the bearest minimum.

Meanwhile some prominent personalities from Mampong Muslim community including Dr Sadick have been given citations for their unwavering support for the needy.
