The family of Obaapanin Theresa Yaa Nsonyameye, also known as Grace Danso Akua Adu, Maame Amma Kaah, Mary Kunadu and Yaa Kwaah, has announced a series of funeral and burial activities in her honour at Sefwi Ntakam in the Ashanti Region.
The late Obaapanin passed away at the ages of 98, 90 and 78, and will be mourned by traditional authorities, family members, and sympathisers from across the country and abroad. A long list of chiefs, queen mothers, family heads, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have been named as chief mourners.
Funeral arrangements begin with a wake-keeping on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Sefwi Ntakam. This will be followed by the lying in state, burial and funeral rites on Saturday, December 6, 2025, also at Sefwi Ntakam.
A thanksgiving service and final funeral rites will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, while a family gathering is scheduled for Monday, December 8, 2025, at the family house.
The family has invited all friends, sympathisers and the general public to join them in celebrating the life of the late Obaapanin Theresa Yaa Nsonyameye.
