Kumasi – June 29, 2025
The immediate past Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Most Rev. Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo, has called on evangelists in the Kumasi Diocese to fulfill the Great Commission by going forth to make disciples of the nation.
He made this appeal during the commissioning of 2,025 evangelists at the Calvary Methodist Church in Kumasi.
Speaking on the theme “Sent Forth with the Gospel,” Rev. Dr. Boafo charged the newly commissioned evangelists to remain committed to their calling by preaching the word of God faithfully and building genuine relationships with the people they serve.
He warned against the use of false prophecies and discouraged the practice of manipulating congregants by bringing irrelevant items—such as oranges and onions—into church under the guise of spiritual direction.
“Stay focused and let the Holy Bible be your guide as you go out to preach the Good News in your various societies,” he emphasized.
Rev. Dr. Boafo concluded by reminding the evangelists of the sacred responsibility they carry and encouraged them to uphold integrity, humility, and faithfulness in their ministry.
