The Ejura Divisional Council has strongly condemned the recent attack on the Ejura District Police Command, calling for the swift arrest and prosecution of those responsible.

The Council is urging that all suspects be brought to book to serve as a deterrent to others.

The Ejura traditional authority, led by Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II, met with the Member of Parliament for the Area, Zongo Chiefs, police, and other stakeholders to find lasting solutions to the chaos.

The meeting aimed to address the underlying issues that led to the attack, in which some youth from Ejura Zongo burnt down the police station and other properties

The attack was reportedly sparked by the death of a suspect in police custody, who had been arrested on suspicion of theft.

The youth claimed that the suspect had been mistreated by the police, leading to his death.

Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II expressed concern over the destruction of properties and called for calm among community members. He urged them to allow the police to do their work.

The Ashanti North Regional Police Commander, DCOP Jude Cobina, briefed the gathering on security arrangements, stating that over 100 police officers had been deployed to restore peace.

He assured that the police would collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure complete restoration of peace in Ejura.

DCOP Cobina also noted that all suspects involved in the attack would be brought to book, and he urged Ghanaians to be law-abiding citizens to avoid facing the law.
