Bibiani MCE leads clean-up exercise ahead of  2025 Eluo Festival

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Mr. Sebastian Obeng, has spearheaded a massive clean-up exercise involving various institutions in the municipality. 

The initiative aims to rid Bibiani and its environs of filth, creating a healthy atmosphere ahead of the 2025 Eluo Festival.

The MCE emphasized that maintaining a clean and healthy environment is a shared responsibility, requiring the active participation of all citizens.

He noted that poor sanitation remains a leading cause of preventable diseases and urged residents to make cleanliness a daily habit rather than a periodic activity.

Mr. Obeng admonished  that sanitation remains a top priority for the Assembly, particularly as the municipality prepares to host thousands of visitors during the upcoming 2025 Eluo Festival. 

He opioned that promoting a clean and healthy environment not only reflects positively on the municipality but also enhances the festival experience for tourists and returning residents.

The exercise, which began in the early hours of Friday, November 21,2025, involved security agencies including police, fire service personnel, and immigration officers, traditional leaders, and assembly staff.

Others were assembly members, commercial drivers, shop owners, traders, youth groups and members of the general public with the focused to clear gutters, swept the streets, and desilt choked gutters particularly, around the roundabout and market area.

*Chief of Sefwi Basengele Praises Clean-Up Efforts*

Nana Kwesi Ator-Ware II, Chief of Sefwi Basengele, expressed his gratitude to residents for their communal spirit in making the clean-up exercise a success. 

He commended the MCE and security agencies for their continuous support in maintaining cleanliness and order in the municipality.

The chief encouraged the public to fully participate in this year’s Eluo Festival, scheduled from November 16 to 23. 

He emphasized that a clean environment adds beauty, dignity, and success to cultural celebrations.
