Amasaman Court Fixes Date to Deliver Judgment on Agradaa’s Appeal

The Amasaman High Court has adjourned to February 5, 2026, to deliver its ruling on the appeal filed by former fetish priestess turned evangelist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.

Agradaa is challenging her conviction and the 15-year prison sentence imposed on July 3, 2025, after she was found guilty of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence.

In her appeal, she maintains that the trial was flawed, arguing that the prosecution failed to establish its case beyond reasonable doubt.

She has also described the sentence as harsh and excessive.

Addressing journalists after court proceedings on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, her lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, explained that the court’s decision to adjourn the matter was influenced by the Attorney-General’s Office failing to comply with earlier directives.

According to him, technical challenges involving electronic exhibits required for the appeal contributed to the delay.

Mr. Baffour added that the defence opposed a request by the Attorney-General’s Office for more time to file its written submissions.

After considering arguments from both parties, the court fixed February 5, 2026, as the date for its ruling, while granting the prosecution the option to submit written addresses should it deem them necessary
