Accra, September 11, 2025 – The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama will officially launch the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season at a grand ceremony on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium. The event kicks off at 17:00 GMT.
The highly anticipated launch will not only usher in a new season of Ghana’s premier football competition but also highlight the growing stature of the league. As Special Guest of Honour, President Mahama is expected to deliver the keynote address and officially declare the season open.
Adding to the excitement, award-winning reggae-dancehall artiste Stonebwoy will thrill fans with a live performance, blending music and football in a vibrant celebration.
In announcing the event, the GFA invited fans across the country to be part of the festivities:

The season opener is set to follow soon after the launch, with Accra Hearts of Oak beginning their campaign against newly promoted Hohoe United FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.
