In a demonstration of its commitment to Africa’s development, MTN Group supported the 2025 Economic Governance School, a training program for public officials from Ghana, South Africa, and Kenya held in Accra, Ghana. The initiative—run by NSG (South Africa), KSG (Kenya), and GIMPA (Ghana)—aims to strengthen senior leadership and promote inclusive economic governance across the continent.
The program brought together policymakers and senior public officials for peer learning, policy dialogue, and institutional exchange, including a visit to the AfCFTA Secretariat. Aligned with MTN’s 21 Days of Y’ello Care, the delegation also toured the Opportunities Industrialisation Centre Ghana (OICG), supported by MTN to offer youth vocational and digital skills training.
MTN’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer Nompilo Morafo emphasized that Africa’s growth depends on investing in people and institutions. MTN executives, including Ghana CEO Stephen Blewett and CIO Bernard Acquah, participated in discussions on digital transformation, AI, and infrastructure financing.
The initiative was praised by South Africa’s Deputy Minister Ms. Pinky Kekana and GIMPA Director Prof. Samuel Kwadwo Bonsu as a vital platform for fostering leadership, reflection, and cross-sector collaboration.
