

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the closure of its Premium Passport Application Centres located in Accra and Kumasi, effective February 20, 2026.
In a press statement issued on Monday, February 23, the Ministry explained that the decision affects all applicants who were accessing services at the premium centres, including individuals with pending passport applications.
According to the statement, clients impacted by the closure are advised to continue their passport processing at their respective Regional Passport Application Centres.
The Ministry encouraged applicants who may require further clarification or support during the transition to contact the Passport Office Client Service Unit on 0302-754-200 for assistance.
Despite the shutdown of the premium centres, the Ministry assured the general public of its unwavering commitment to providing efficient and effective passport services across the country.
It reaffirmed that measures have been put in place to ensure smooth service delivery at the regional centres.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to take this opportunity to assure the general public of its commitment to deliver quality public service,” the statement concluded.
