Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has briefed Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on major government interventions aimed at developing the Ashanti Region. The engagement took place during the Akwasidae celebration.
Dr. Amoakohene highlighted the role of Defense Minister Dr. Omane Boamah in completing the Afari Military Hospital and the efforts of Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak in maintaining security, particularly in the fight against illegal mining. He also acknowledged the contributions of Lands and Natural Resources Minister Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah in combating illegal mining and ensuring the successful takeover of the Offin Shelterbelt Forest Reserve.
Additionally, the minister updated Otumfuo on the visit of Local Government Minister Ahmed Ibrahim, who has committed to completing Kejetia Phase 2 and other projects. He also noted the work of Roads Minister Kwame Agbodza and Health Minister Kwabena Minter Akandoh in addressing road infrastructure and healthcare concerns in the region.
On behalf of President Nana Akufo-Addo, Dr. Amoakohene reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the development of the Ashanti Region and informed Otumfuo about the President’s upcoming visit for a Thanksgiving Service with the clergy.
Describing the engagement as insightful, Dr. Amoakohene pledged to continue advocating for the region’s progress.
