Kwabre Area Community Bank PLC has recorded significant growth in its financial position, with total assets, deposits, investment securities, loans and advances, stated capital and shareholders’ equity all registering increases in 2025.
The Bank’s total assets rose from GH¢15.18 million in 2024 to GH¢24.61 million in 2025, representing an increase of GH¢9.43 million, or 62.1 per cent.

The development was disclosed by the Board Chairman of Kwabre Area Community Bank PLC, Ing. Louis Kwachie, at the Bank’s 6th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, where he presented the financial performance for the year under review.
Profitability
Ing. Kwachie said the Bank recorded a profit before tax of GH¢760,031 in 2025, compared with GH¢775,346 in 2024, representing a decline of GH¢15,315, or approximately 2.0 per cent.
Profit after tax stood at GH¢728,167, also representing a marginal decline compared with the previous year.
Despite the slight reduction in profitability, he said the Bank achieved substantial growth in its balance sheet and income-generating assets.
He said management had consequently been tasked to improve revenue generation, enhance operational efficiency and maintain effective cost control.

Ing. Kwachie noted that the banking industry continued to require prudent liquidity and credit-risk management, sound corporate governance, effective internal controls and strict compliance with regulatory requirements.
He said the Board and Management remained focused on strengthening the Bank’s financial position, improving customer service, mobilising deposits, expanding investments and supporting businesses and individuals within its operational area.
Strong Growth in Total Assets
According to the Board Chairman, cash and bank balances increased from GH¢1.86 million in 2024 to GH¢4.55 million in 2025, representing a growth of 143.8 per cent.
Property, plant and equipment also increased from GH¢489,113 to GH¢995,328, representing a growth of 103.5 per cent.
Deposits Rise by 57.8%
Total deposits increased from GH¢13.15 million in 2024 to GH¢20.75 million in 2025, representing an increase of GH¢7.60 million, or 57.8 per cent.
Ing. Kwachie attributed the growth to continued customer confidence in the Bank and commended management and staff for their efforts in deposit mobilisation.

He also expressed appreciation to customers for their loyalty and continued patronage.
Investment Securities Expand
Investment securities rose from GH¢10.14 million in 2024 to GH¢14.67 million in 2025, representing an increase of GH¢4.53 million, or 44.7 per cent.
He said the increase contributed to strengthening the Bank’s earning assets and overall financial position.
Loans and Advances Increase
Loans and advances also recorded significant growth, increasing from GH¢2.49 million in 2024 to GH¢3.94 million in 2025, representing an increase of GH¢1.45 million, or 58.4 per cent.
Ing. Kwachie said the growth reflected the Bank’s continued support for individuals, businesses and other customers within its operational area.
He, however, stressed the need for prudent lending and said management would continue to strengthen credit appraisal, loan monitoring and recovery efforts to maintain a healthy and sustainable loan portfolio.
Stated Capital Grows
The Bank’s stated capital increased from GH¢1.86 million in 2024 to GH¢2.30 million in 2025, representing an increase of GH¢443,380, or 23.9 per cent.
Ing. Kwachie said the Board would continue to encourage shareholders to increase their shareholding and support the Bank’s capitalisation efforts as it works towards sustainable growth and compliance with the new regulatory capital requirement.
Bank Changes Name
The Board Chairman also announced that the Bank had changed its name from Kwabre Area Rural Bank PLC to Kwabre Area Community Bank PLC in compliance with a Bank of Ghana directive requiring rural banks to adopt the “Community Bank” designation.
He said the Bank had received the relevant certificate from the Office of the Registrar of Companies confirming the change.
Shareholders were therefore expected to ratify the change of name at the Annual General Meeting.
New GH¢5 Million Capital Requirement
Ing. Kwachie further highlighted the new regulatory capital requirement affecting Community Banks.
He said the Bank of Ghana had increased the minimum stated capital requirement for Community Banks from GH¢1 million to GH¢5 million, with institutions required to meet the new requirement by December 31, 2026.
He said the new requirement meant that Kwabre Area Community Bank needed to significantly strengthen its capital base.
According to him, the Board and Management had already commenced measures to address the requirement through intensified capital mobilisation efforts and engagement with shareholders and other stakeholders.
He therefore appealed to shareholders to increase their shareholding and participate fully in the Bank’s capital-raising initiative.
He said strengthening the capital base was critical to safeguarding the Bank’s future, enhancing its financial capacity and positioning it for sustainable growth.
Digital Banking and Cost Management
Looking ahead, Ing. Kwachie said the Bank would prioritise the improvement of its digital banking channels to provide customers with convenient, secure and efficient services.
Management would also focus on improving operational efficiency, controlling expenditure and identifying sustainable income-generating opportunities.
He acknowledged that challenges remained, particularly in the areas of capitalisation, profitability, loan recovery, operational efficiency and competition within the financial services sector.
He, however, assured shareholders that the Board and Management remained committed to addressing the challenges and positioning the Bank for sustainable growth while providing quality, convenient and reliable banking services.
He expressed appreciation to traditional leaders, shareholders, customers, regulators, management, staff and other stakeholders for their continued support and participation in the Bank’s 6th Annual General Meeting.
He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to prudent management, sound corporate governance and the continued growth and development of Kwabre Area Community Bank PLC.
