
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has taken into custody controversial relationship counsellor Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt following comments he allegedly made in a viral video regarding the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba.
According to a police statement, preliminary investigations revealed that Counsellor Lutterodt called on some young people to march to the residence of the late musician.
Authorities indicated that the remarks were considered offensive and capable of provoking a disturbance of public peace.
The police explained that the comments, which circulated widely on social media, raised concerns about possible unrest and prompted the intervention of the CID.
Counsellor Lutterodt has since been granted bail but is expected to appear before court on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
He is facing charges of offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
He is also accused of inciting violence under the same law as well as the Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491), according to the police statement.
