The Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, led by its President, Oboade Notse Odaifio Welentsi III, on January 30, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
The visit aimed at strengthening traditional collaboration, particularly in efforts to attract international investment into the Greater Accra Region.
The delegation also used the opportunity to request the inclusion of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in a proposed conflict adjudication committee for the region, in recognition of his widely acknowledged role in conflict resolution and traditional leadership.
Additionally, the House formally invited the Asantehene to participate in activities marking the 200th Anniversary of the historic Akatamanso War.
Members of the delegation included the Vice President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, Nene Tetteh Wakah III; the Paramount Chief of the Ningo Traditional Area, Nene Osroagbo Djangmah XII; the Paramount Chief of Teshie, Gbetsoolor Nii Ashitey Akomfra III; and the Paramount Chief of Katamanso, Tatse Nii Laryea Akuetteh X.
