Accra, August 13, 2025 — The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Justin Kodua, on Wednesday led a delegation to the headquarters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to commiserate with the party over the recent helicopter crash that claimed eight lives, including two Ministers of State.

The visit, which took place exactly one week after the tragic incident, was a gesture of solidarity in the wake of a national tragedy that has left the country in shock and mourning.

The NPP delegation was received by NDC National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who spoke on behalf of the party.

During the meeting, Mr. Kodua apologised to the NDC leadership over remarks made by some NPP members in connection with the incident. He stressed that such comments did not represent the official position of the party, adding that death—regardless of the circumstances—is not something one should wish even upon an adversary.

For their part, the NDC expressed deep appreciation to the NPP for the visit and their words of comfort during this difficult time
